Quantel stereo3D technology nominated IABM Design Awards Candidate 2008

Breakthrough technology ‘one of top ten most innovative in design’

Newbury, UK, 6 August 2008: Quantel is delighted to announce that it has been nominated as an IABM Design Awards Candidate 2008 for its development of stereoscopic 3D post production technology. In making this nomination, the IABM has reviewed nearly 70 submissions for the Design Award this year and selected Quantel’s stereo3D technology as one of the Top 10 most innovative in design.

“We are absolutely delighted that a judging panel for this prestigious award - drawn from within our industry - has chosen our stereo3D technology as one of the top ten innovations,” said Steve Owen, Quantel Director of Marketing. “Stereoscopic 3D is arguably the biggest opportunity our industry has seen for a number of years, and it’s sure to be centre-stage at IBC, for both broadcasters and the movie industry. Quantel has very much taken a lead in championing this step-change.”

On August 20th, the IABM Design Award judging panel will announce the five award-winning finalists. The overall winner as well as the winners of the IABM Awards for Excellence will be announced on Saturday 13th September at an IABM Awards Reception during IBC following a final review of the short-listed five entries during the show by the judges.
